Where did the year go, doesn't seem that long ago we were covered with that nasty white stuff. Well as we are headed into the best time of the year to play golf we will begin to destruct the course in order to make it better for next year. We will do the greens aerification beginning the second week of October but we will aerify our practice greens the last week of September. The fairways will be aerified with our Aer-Way, this aerifier cuts deep slits into the soil with minimul damage to the turf, beginning September 16th. Our other fall projects will include the leveling of the oak (middle) tees on #'s 11 & 13 and then they will be reseed and covered and then we will replace the bunker material on the #10 greenside bunker. We have sprayed 3 of our fairways with a new product that will eliminate the unwanted bentgrass in the bluegrass along with the removal of the poa trivialas and poa annua. This is very noticealbe because these fairways (2,4,13) will be either yellow or a bleached out white color to the turf. After a specified time we will overseed these areas to bluegrass. As we head into the end of the season we will remain open as long as possilbe, we hope that you were able to enjoy Landsmeer and please come out and play this fall, remember no leafs.
